You need to clean the chain with kerosene before applying the new lube… no point putting new lube over dirty old lube.

I don’t agree with your process at all! Use a lube to clean the chain, then use A WAX afterwards. At least you’re using liquid wrench which offers better anti-fling properties, but for someone that doesn’t know otherwise they will grab any old chain lube and apply it. Then even after a 24 hour drying period it will fling all over the outer edge of the tire.

to clean your chain (especially an O ring chain) don’t use WD40 or any other kind of penetrant that can seep in and ruin the rings, just use a regular solvent (like the solvent stations in shops use) or mineral spirits or even gasoline.
