Kawasaki releases 2018 Kawasaki Z900 RS teaser trailer

Kawasaki Motors has just released a short teaser video of what seems to be the Kawasaki Z900 RS modern classic bike.

The short teaser video posted on Youtube by Kawasaki Motors ended with the message “Unveiling of Kawasaki’s TrueSpirit TOKYO, 25-10-2017”.

The date stated at the very in the end indicates that the unveiling will be made during the 2017 Tokyo Motor Show happening this October.

Looks like Kawasaki has finally confirmed the predictions to revive their modern classic range with the introduction of the 2018 Kawasaki Z900 RS. The short teaser video posted on Youtube by Kawasaki Motors ended with the message “Unveiling of Kawasaki’s TrueSpirit TOKYO, 25-10-2017”.

It seems like the renowned Japanese motorcycle magazine Autoby we’re quite dead on when they released a rendered modern classic version of the Z900 just a few months back. MCN also had their own ideas on how the Z900 RS will look like. Judging by both renditions, we can honestly say that this will be quite an entry into the modern classic division especially with that powerful inline-four engine found on the Z900 ABS.

In the short 27-second clip, we we’re ecstatic to see the appearance of the old-school Kawasaki Z1 from the 1970s. This is a clear indicator that the new Kawasaki Z900 RS will pay great homage to the Z1 which has gained iconic status in the two-wheel industry.

Later in the video, we were teased with what looks like the new Z900 RS but since it’s a teaser, the bike’s image was obscured by some annoying side road barriers. WHAT A TEASE. The date stated at the very in the end indicates that the unveiling will be made at the 2017 Tokyo Motor Show which will be happening around the similar time frame.

Since the market for modern classics are quickly becoming a hot key item to ride in this day and age, the move to release the Z900 RS seems very timely. Considering their previous and discontinued W800 didn’t really catch on, this new modern classic will definitely turn heads.

Based on the name, we assume that the Z900 RS will be heavily based on the successful 2017 Kawasaki Z900 ABS. It’ll probably run the same 948cc inline-four, liquid-cooled, DOHC engine which produces an insane 124hp and 98Nm of torque with a kerb weight of only 210kg.

We took the 2017 Kawasaki Z900 ABS out for a test ride previously and we we’re quite impress. To know more about our review on the Z900.

Whatever the arguments may be, we can’t wait for the 2017 Tokyo Motor Show to start so that we can finally see and admire the upcoming 2018 Kawasaki Z900 RS.

  1. I will make sure this z900rs will be my best motobike for ever and ever..i like they look like classic z900 73 75

  2. Hopefully the real one looks better than the drawing. I need to get rid of that high ass in like a crotch rocket make it look more like the old 900 and the 1000. 4 pipes into two Mufflers on one side looks like shit it needs real for in the two duels. Big heavy full Chrome fenders.. chrome spoke fat Wheels. Full upright seating position. Then maybe I would consider one but it’s still hard to beat the CB 1100 Honda but it still needs some tweaks and add-ons to make it look authentic.!!! I don’t care about how much horsepower it has or how fast it accelerate and go.!!! And it sounds like it’s going to be too lightweight I like a heavy bike at least 500 lb. This lightweight Jap shit you feel like you’re getting blowed all over the road buy cars and pickups not to mention of dump trucks in the tractor trailers to light. I hate to say it but at least the Harley 1200 Sportster has enough weight to hold itself on the road it feels a whole lot better than the lightweight Jap bikes I like the extra weight !!!!

  3. I used to like the looks of the older crotch rockets but that was 15 years ago that shit is old and outdated now nobody wants to lay down over a bike and ride it anymore only a dumbass Would by One and then they would hate it very quickly they are just for the race track they’re not practical on the street no more. We need a lot more of the vintage style bikes in all sizes. !!!
