2016 Kawasaki Concours 14 Motorcycle Review – I have wanted to review this one for a while, as it’s the most direct competition to my primary bike. I was very pleasantly surprised to find out many of the core features positions specs and features are nearly identical. This was a powerful, refined, well thought out sport-touring bike with comfort to take you anywhere for sure. While it’s due for a refresh as many Kawasaki bikes are at this time, it’s still a solid choice if you are in the market for a more basic choice. You should certainly take a spin on it if you are considering the FJR1300A which is more of a match for it than the ES.

I now own an 08 FJR, and had a 10 Concours prior… the FJR definitely pulls harder from lower RPMs… but the Connie is such a rocket above 4k RPM.

Less electronics is what makes the GTR so good. More electronics doesn’t mean more reliable… And about the dial which is analog, is still the best to me, because it’s accurate. People should remember that it is a bike, not a limousine |’) I own A C14 and it’s my only transport. I do traffic every day, winter as well, no problem doing that. This bike is all about reliability and performance.

You are 6.2″, I am 5.73″… With the windscreen extended to its highest position, where is your line of sight with the top edge of the screen?
Nice bike. Needs cruise control. Any bike used for touring should have it. Goldwings had it in the mid 80s.
i thought ot does have power modes. fyi for any futur riders.
Another great review. The way you review the FJR and the Concours it really is about taking a test ride and making the decision for yourself. So I did and noticed the same things your were talking about. Although the acceleration on the FJR is more Sport touring and the Concours is more Sport bike like. So now your simply trading a more comfortable seat for cruise control. Electronic suspension for additional price, which you could use to purchase one of the best suspensions out there. So as you have said take a test ride and decide for yourself.
And Triumph trophy is nothing like it. I think it’s better.

Nice review but comparing it to the FJR you must really rev the bike to feel the difference and personally I think GTR has more engine, specially when you ride her hard.
In regards to features many people (also in my country) speak about cruise control but in my country it is forbidden to take your hands off the bars unless you are signaling a maneuver so i guess a cramp buster does the job well.

Best bike for the money If you want a sport touring compared to BMW. I bought a 2016 for 11000. No cruise control not a deal breaker for me I’ll take the heated grips

I bought this bike because of your review. May buy the Yamaha FJR 1300 next time.
For me it came down to the cruise control and electronic suspension. The FJR wins but only by a hair.
Why do these sell less than those rumbly slow cruisers!?
